Maria Jane is the singer of the folk duo Smith & Thell who I have already filmed several times.
She is going solo and will release her first album next year. I had the chance to film 2 live songs in duo format a few weeks ago in Stockholm, in the brand new Pet Sounds Bar, the future "place to be" in Stockholm!
Maria has just released her first single "Adrian" of which here is a stripped down electro pop version. This song describes Maria's youth in the countryside of southern Sweden as a trashy paradise filled with trailer parks, a babysitter “who went AWOL from ’Nam,” and hot-wired cars.
Smith & Tell was already an excellent band, and there's no doubt that Maria's album will be just as excellent, given the quality of her writing and production of her songs.
